Magnificent Eight, from the comic “The Ravages of Time” created by Chan Mou, is a group of strategists personally trained by Mr. Shui-jing (Sze Ma Hui), also known as the Military Advisor Group. The group is named Magnificent Eight of Shui-jing because it consists of eight disciples. They are often referred to simply as the “Magnificent Eight”. In the story, Magnificent Eight holds significant influence and each member is regarded as one of the most outstanding military advisors of their time. As a result, various warlords try their best to recruit them in order to benefit from their services. However, the Magnificent Eight primarily act based on their own will, beliefs, and ideals, and are not easily swayed by threats or temptations. Aside from the leader, Yuán Fāng, the other members of the Magnificent Eight are based on historical figures.
about Comic Artist – Chan Mou
Chan Mou is a renowned comic artist known as the “Youthful Zheng Wen”. Born in Hong Kong, Chan is an artist under the Tong Li Publishing Co. and has released comic series such as “Not Human 不是人” and “The Ravages of Time” which are based on the Three Kingdoms period of ancient China. Chan has also made bold attempts in the sci-fi wuxia genre with the work “Chong Shen Bang充神榜” which garnered widespread acclaim and received multiple international awards. Currently, Chan is focusing on the long-running series “The Ravages of Time” which is still ongoing.
