Name of Character:Din-Dong
Din-dong, a comics work inspired by the authors’ hyperactive cat, is in particularly favoured by the audiences in Asia. It was awarded with “The 4th ASIAGRAPH, Japan – Jury Prize”, and its animation was screened in Nippon TV. Its comics version had been serialised in East Touch, Sky Post, Comic King in Malaysia, and Webtoon in Korea. There have also been over 10 exhibitions of Din-dong held in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan respectively, including Art in HK, Talee Star Place, LCX Harbour City Hong Kong, and National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan), to name but a few. Its comics collection in addition has been published and issued in Taiwan.
About Comic Artist – Postgal Workshop
John Chan, a comics artist. He formed Postgal Workshop together with his wife Pam Hung. As both of them are cat lovers, the Chinese name of the Workshop is a homonym of “cat lice”.
Their work Hidden Elders won the Grand Prize in the 10th Japan TBS DigiCon6 Awards. Afterwards, they produced pieces such as Fool Lee, The Tired City, Mum is Born, and Life is Animated. Their works have been screened in such places as Japan, France, America, Switzerland, as well as Korea, and have won prizes including the 9th ifva Awards – Animation Category Silver Award, the 11th ifva Awards – Animation Category Gold Award, the 11th Flash Forward Film Festival (FFFF) – Best Cartoon, and the 5th Seoul Film Festival (SENEF) – Best Web Work.
